what are your school hours?

We offer flexible enrollment options with 2-day (Tue/Thu), 3-day (Mon/Wed/Fri), or 5-day (Mon–Fri) programs.

Families may also choose from different schedules, with drop-off available as early as 7:30 a.m. and pick-up until 4:30 p.m.

are snacks and lunches provided?

Blooming House provides all children with a morning snack and one for the afternoon (3:15 PM) if enrolled in the Extended-Day program. Children must bring a nutritious lunch (that does not require reheating) in reusable plastic and/or glass containers that are easy to open and close for the child.

do you have tours of your preschool?

We offer individual tours of our school Monday through Friday. Feel free to use this link to schedule yours today! If you’d like to schedule a tour outside of available times, please call or email us to find an alternative suitable time.

how old does my child need to be to enroll?

Your child must be at least 1 year and 6 months old at the time of their first day at Blooming House Montessori. You may join our Waitlist and/or submit enrollment forms in advance to secure your spot.

does my child need to be potty trained to enroll?

For children enrolling in the toddler program (18 months–3 years), potty training is not required. Our teachers gently support and encourage toilet learning as each child shows readiness .Children must be potty-trained prior to attending Blooming House Montessori’s primary program.

how soon can my child start?

Given availability, your child may start attending Blooming House Montessori at any point during the school year.

what is your teacher-student ratio?

Our toddler environment (18 months–3 years) maintains a 12:2 ratio to ensure close guidance and support during this important stage of development while our primary environments (3–6 years) each have a 15:2 ratio, allowing for individualized attention within a collaborative classroom community.

what will be the age range of students in my child's class?

One of the key elements of a traditional Montessori environment is a multi-aged group. Our toddler program serves children 18 months–3 years, while our primary program includes children 3 years through kindergarten.

is there nap time? if so, what is the schedule?

Yes, all children will have scheduled “nap/quiet time" after lunch, regularly starting around 1:00 PM. There is no need to pack a pillow or blanket as napping arrangements are provided by Blooming House.

what qualifications do your teachers hold?

Our Montessori Head-Teachers hold BA’s in Early Childhood Education, and Montessori accreditation by the American Montessori Society (AMS) as well as the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI).

does blooming house offer financial assistance?

Yes! We work alongside the YMCA Childcare Resource Service and the CDA to help families who qualify pay for childcare services. You can contact the San Diego County Centralized Eligibility List (CEL) at 1-800-521-0560 or visit www.childcaresandiego.com or the CDA at 619-427-4411 or www.cdasd.org to learn about the enrollment process and eligibility requirements.
